Race day

Saturday 7th October 2017

Registration

Registration opens at 9am and closes at 10:00am, by 10:20am you should have all your equipment ready in the boat and bike transitions and be lining up for a race briefing before a 10:30am start.

The race headquaters will be the Melbourne Adventure tent on the grass picinic area beside the boat ramp and start line. The Whitfield bakery will be selling coffee for those needing a kick start.

The Race

We are expecting the winning teams and super fast solo competitors at around 2pm, we recommend you race fast to enjoy the spoils at the finish line. Enjoy some homemade hot soup and freshly baked bread rolls, great views of the Valley you just raced through and a post race briefing with all the friends you made along the way.

The event cut off is 6hrs, this allows plenty of time to complete the course, we recommend training to ensure you can do it. At 4:30pm the race director and timing staff will pack up and drive to the Whitfield Mountain View Hotel for the presentations.

Logisitics

If you are a solo competitor with no support crew, be sure to let the race director know before the race, then let them know again at registration. If you don't have support we will make it happen but we need time to organise this.

If you do have a support crew that can help a fellow competitor, please let the race director know.

Given the start is a 20 minute drive from Whitfield please arrange to have all your belongings collected from the lake, if you need assistance with this please let the race director know prior to the event day. That way no one needs to back track before the race presentations in Whitfield at 5pm.

After the race

Dinner and Presentations at the Mountain View Hotel in Whitfield from 5pm. This is a great social catch up whilst enjoying the excellent food and a few well earned drinks.

If the weather is fine we will head back to the lake on Sunday for a paddle to try out different boats 9:30am-11am.

Make the most of your trip to the King Valley, check out the local produce, a well renowned gourmet food region with many wineries to visit. If you have any energy left we recommend you explore further as you please.
